Sowing Seeds Into the Midlands founder Zakiya Mickle thanks the crowd for attending her Jazz Fundraising Brunch at Chayz Lounge on Saturday. The fundraiser was part of the Midlands Gives 8/28 Give Campaign, which was designed to help minority-focused community service organizations to raise funds. Sowing Seeds Into the Midlands is a grassroots nonprofit committed to helping youth ages 13-18 thrive by offering support services and tailored programming to help teens make informed decisions that benefit their futures. From life skills training and professional counseling to mentoring and after-school tutoring, the organization creates safe spaces for teens to engage authentically and respectfully with themselves and the world around them.
